Part of making a difference is education.  If your new to CBD, a terms with will come across a lot is “Full-Spectrum CBD”.  Most of our products are labeled as containing full-spectrum CBD so let us explain what it means and what makes it so great.

Choosing Your CBD

Not all CBD is created equal.  When you are buying CBD, you’re faced with two choices; CBD Isolate or Full-Spectrum CBD.  CBD isolate is CBD in its purest form, meaning only the cannabinoid CBD is extracted from the hemp plant.  No other plant matter is present in isolate.  Full-Spectrum CBD, however, has several key differences to take note of.

CBD is only one of over 100 cannabinoids that are present in the hemp plant.  Full-Spectrum oil contains CBD as well as every other cannabinoid present; cannabicyclol, tetrahydrocannabivarin, and cannabichromevinaric acid, just to name a few.  In addition to including all of the cannabinoids, Full-Spectrum CBD also contains other useful plant ingredients such as essential vitamins and minerals; beneficial fatty acids like Omega-3 and Omega-6; plant-based proteins and fibers; chlorophyll; terpenes (unsaturated hydrocarbons found in the essential oils of the cannabis plant); and flavonoids (chemicals that are responsible for a plant’s color, smell, and flavor).

Another important thing to keep in mind is that Full-Spectrum CBD is contains all cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant, including THC, the cannabinoid that is mostly prevalent in marijuana that is responsible for its psychoactive effect.  To be legal for consumption in all states, full-spectrum CBD oils are made from hemp.  To be sold legally nationwide, hemp products must have a THC content of less than 0.3%.

Working Together

For a long time, CBD Isolate was considered to be the cream of the “crop”, per se, of the CBD industry, however, recent research has determined that this is not the case.  Studies have shown that when all of the cannabinoids are working in unison, the end product is more effective than only CBD acting alone.  This occurrence is known as the “Entourage Effect”.

Basically, what the Entourage Effect means is that all of the components of the cannabis plant interact with the human body to produce a stronger effect than any one of those components acting alone.  When all of the chemical and biological compounds of cannabis are combined in their natural state, there is a domino effect. The different compounds showcase the effect of the others, making the overall plant material, and eventually the CBD extract, that much more effective.
